Evelyn's Birthday!

Evelyn's most recent obsession is The Little Mermaid, so we decided that we would have an Under the sea party for her. I made a banner, had streamers and pink and purple balloons. I spent weeks and weeks planning Evelyn's cake. (In my opinion the most important thing in a party =)) I went in a bidding war on E-bay for the little mermaid figurines you see in the pics, at the last second I was able to outbid the other obnoxious bidder by a few cents. Her cake was made with the confetti cake mix. I used matching confetti frosting on the sides, with white colored blue frosting on the top. I used blue decorating gel to make the frosting look like water, and colored more frosting green for the a seaweed effect on along the outer edges and the writing "Evelyn's 3!" For the mound, I used more cake (cut off the top mound before placing on tinfoil covered pan)I frosted the mound with just white and colored regular white sugar with food coloring to make it look like sand. I used Pink plastic beads from JoAnns along the bottom and Blue sprinkles covered the cake when I was all finished. The figurines fit perfect in the scene.

Evelyn got a Little Mermaid Barbie, Bride Barbie, Mermaid Movies and Dress shoes and so much more from all the wonderful friends and family here.

Evelyn was tickled to be sung to. I'm so glad Aaron got it on tape! She's so cute!

After cake and icecream and presents we went to the park with everyone to play.
Then, after everyone went home, our neighbors had a plastic pool outside and invited Egan and Evelyn to play. At around 7, we put the kids in PJs, and left the room for a few minutes (normally it takes a while for the kids to calm and go to sleep) Within five minutes there were no sounds, we went back in to check, both completely out with Evelyn clutching her new barbies. Happy day. And believe it or not, they were great at church the next day (today)too. Crazy!

More Backpacks!

My sister Loved the idea of the backpacks I'm making for my website and ordered 3 now that her family had doubled since her wedding earlier this month. Here are pictures of the finished products. I hope they keep the kids safe as well as make them look adorable.
This first one I made for Breeze a sweet 3 year old girlie. A home made butterfly hides a pocket for treasures.

This one is for Elias, Made strong and large for his Monster Samoan form.. though he is only 3, was made with a patchwork of lizards, dinosaurs and jungle frogs.

Little almost 2 Jackson will be wearing this denim fun froggie.

All these backpack leashes have reinforced attachments and extra button holes to re size as they grow. They can also just be a backpack by rolling up the leash and putting it in the backpack pocket. Lots of fun! I can make one for only $10. I found a great pattern to make elephants, lambs and horses too. (Awesome JoAnns sales!) Feel free to email me with suggestions, and ideas.

Ladies Man

I was watching a little girl from our ward today. I overheard Egan turn to her and say suddenly. "Ashlyn... you are soooo Cute!"
Adorable.. 'nuf said.

Baby Birds!?

Ok, so last week some noise started above our stove. Clickity, bang, squawk, chirp chirp. And it was loud! So loud I was kept up at night thinking there was someone in the house...Called the landlord..no response. Then nasty stuff started dripping from behind the overhead fan... I went and found a maintenance man, and brought him into the house to have him see the problem.. "NO WAY!" was his response. Needless to say we opened up the overhead compartment, then took apart the vent.. and there they were.. 4 BABY BIRDS! Their parents aparently built a nest there by flying in the vent on the side of our house. Insane! The guy took them out and put them in a neighboring tree. Hopefully they will be ok.. but man I'm glad to have my house bird free! Didn't get a picture of the birds... they made such a ruckus when being transferred we had to put them in a closed box. But here is a picture of where they came out of.. Crazy right?

My Dad's Awesome Blog

I've been put in charge of posting fun stuff on my Dad's blog for his Canopy Chair Business. Click here to check it out! I'm just starting, but if you become a follower I would be greatly appreciative!

Backpack Leash!

OK, So my kids have out grown their stroller, the wheels were beginning to bow out. I decided to make a leash backpack like the ones you can find at wal-mart. I made a bag with pockets and added straps that come together with buttons in the front and back.(size adjustment capability in the back) and then attached a stuffed animal for fun. Really easy to put on. I'm going to be selling all varieties of these for around $10 on my website http://www.webstarts.com/jasminedesigns/
Now we can get places, in safety with the kids having a relative amount of freedom. What do you think?

Harmony's Day

Saturday the 2nd. My big sister Harmony got married! Here are a few pictures taken at the event at her ward building in Elma.
I think she's beautiful in her fluffy dress and home made jacket top!

Getting ready in the RS room with Mom and Lonna.

Evelyn and I hanging out before the reception.

Evelyn and Harmony's new step daughter Breeze were flower girls in dresses I made specially for the occasion. There was another girl who Harmony has babysat this last year who wore the 3rd dress. (not in the picture)

Getting Pinned up and Vail put on.

Beautiful Mommy. I Love this Picture!

Pink Snow?

So, remember the beautiful pictures of pink flowers I took... now about only half of those pedals have fallen to completely cover the ground to make PINK SNOW! CRAZY!
